Sweet: Come and Sing
With a stellar creative team, and many years experience of bringing people together to learn and perform music in unique settings, Sweet Track Productions is working with the cultural and heritage sectors to devise participatory ‘Sweet: Come and Sing’ events in museums, galleries, theatres, churches and site-specific places.
What makes our events so distinctive? We carefully design the workshops and events with strong thematic elements according to who our partners are, the location, or participants they are trying to reach. The music genres are designed accordingly: from Handel to West End Musical, from Barbershop to ABBA, from sea-shanties to Syrian folk songs and songs championing Nature and Climate Justice.
At the end of the session, the participants are joined by high quality professional soloists or a band to present their learning to the public and/or invited family and friends. This adds an exciting frisson for the participants as they perform, filling the buildings and galleries with music.
We ask of our partners: ‘What special thing about your place, building, exhibition or programme would you like to highlight?’ and 'Who would you like to invite into your space to learn to sing and enjoy performing to the general public?'
Geared towards community participation the ‘Come and Sing’ events are usually held over one day, and sometimes a series of events are programmed alongside an exhibition or anniversary.
